Intermediate Grapes & Varietiesالتعريف
A measurement of sugar content in grape juice.
بالتفصيل
One degree Brix equals one gram of sucrose per 100 grams of solution. Brix approximately translates to potential alcohol: Brix × 0.55 = alcohol %. Winemakers harvest based on Brix targets: 22-24°Bx for dry table wine (12-13.5% alc), 25-28°Bx for rich reds (14-15.5%), 30+°Bx for dessert wine. Temperature and time of day affect readings.
