New World
Beginner History & CultureDefinición
Wine regions established through European colonization.
En Profundidad
The Americas, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa are considered New World. New World wines are stereotypically fruit-forward, varietal-labeled, and technology-driven — though these generalizations are increasingly inaccurate. Many New World regions now produce terroir-focused wines indistinguishable from Old World styles. The terms remain useful for broad categorization but are becoming less meaningful.
