A standard 225-liter Bordeaux oak barrel.
詳しく
The barrique is the international standard for wine aging. A new French oak barrique costs €700-1,200 and imparts significant flavor (vanilla, spice, toast) in its first use. After 3-4 fills, it becomes 'neutral' — providing oxygenation without flavor. Burgundy uses the slightly larger pièce (228L). Some regions use 300L hogsheads or 500L puncheons.
