The highest vineyard classification in Burgundy and Alsace.

In Burgundy, 33 Grand Cru vineyards represent roughly 1.5% of total production but produce the most revered wines. They are labeled by vineyard name alone (Chambertin, Montrachet) without village designation. In Alsace, 51 Grand Cru sites are defined. In Champagne, Grand Cru refers to 17 villages rated 100% on the historical échelle des crus.
