Syrah/Shiraz is the same red grape known by different names in different regions: Syrah in France and most of Europe, Shiraz in Australia. It produces full-bodied wines with dark berry, pepper, and spice flavors in the northern Rhône (Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie) and rich, jammy expressions from Australia's Barossa Valley.
