Intermediate Wine Styles & Types

broot nah-TOOR

Definition

The driest style of sparkling wine with zero added sugar.

In Depth

Also called zero dosage, non-dosé, or pas dosé. After disgorgement, no sugar is added. This requires perfectly ripe base wine — any imbalance is exposed without dosage masking. The trend toward Brut Nature reflects both a preference for drier styles and confidence in grape quality. Maximum 3 g/L residual sugar.
