Definition

A device that extracts wine through the cork without removing it.

The Coravin system inserts a thin needle through the cork, replaces extracted wine with inert argon gas, and the cork reseals naturally. This allows tasting wine by the glass from expensive bottles over weeks or months. Revolutionary for restaurants, collectors, and wine education. Invented by Greg Lambrecht in 2013.
