Wine made with minimal intervention and few or no additives.

A loosely defined movement emphasizing organic/biodynamic farming, wild yeast fermentation, no fining or filtration, and little to no added sulfites. The EU legally defined natural wine in 2023, requiring organic grapes and minimal sulfite addition. Supporters prize its authenticity and terroir expression; critics note inconsistency and potential faults. A polarizing but influential movement.
