Reserve

Beginner Wine Business & Trade

Definição

A marketing term suggesting higher quality, with no legal definition in many countries.

Em Profundidade

In Spain and Italy, Reserve/Riserva has legal meaning — specific aging requirements. In the US, Australia, and many other countries, 'Reserve' has no legal definition and is purely a marketing designation. Some producers use it genuinely for their best lots; others apply it indiscriminately. Consumers should rely on producer reputation rather than the word 'Reserve' alone.
